The Mustangs also finished up their season Saturday taking it on the chin in the CWVAC Championship game against the Bears of Summersville Middle losing by the score of 8-38. The team had a rock solid season and can hold their head up high. Unfortunately, in some games no matter how good you play you have to catch a break, and the Mustangs had none. There is something to be said for playing on a neutral field in a championship game – enough said. The boys played hard, but when the skies rain yellow flags and the team takes two steps back for every one gained, it’s tough to win. However, I say bully for Mustang football! They have been in the hunt every year, have tasted the thrill of victory and will again. Congratulations to the team and their coaches, you did a whale of a job. Congratulations also to Caleb Wynn, Walker James, Isaac Cayton, and Luke Burnette who were named All Conference players – a well deserved award.
