The VFW and Ladies Auxiliary surprised the residents of Clay Health Care Center on Friday with nice lunch for the veterans in the home. These ladies and gentlemen were all jokes and smiles as they waited for their meal. The staff and residents alike were very thankful to have the VFW visiting the home, as there is a very special bond between veterans. A family at heart, each one spoke of the years they had served our county. Lives were changed and memories were built back in those days. As life goes on, we will never truly know how it is to live the life of a war hero. Much appreciation goes out to those that have faced the unimaginable to keep us free.
