Greg Fitzwater Remains Commission President for 2016

Every new year, the County Commission holds a special meeting to decide who the president will be for the new coming year and to set times and dates for monthly meetings and courthouse hours. Monday, January 4, 2016 was the first working day of the New Year, and in accordance with the rules the County Commission held their first meeting.
Greg Fitzwater will remain the commission president for 2016. The County Commission meetings will continue to be on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month and will remain at 10:00am. Courthouse hours will remain the same, 8:00am – 4:00pm Monday through Friday, with the exceptions of holidays.
The commissioners also awarded a contract for sale of timber located on a tract of 34.5 acres to Clonch Industries in the amount of $17,000. The next meeting will continue on January 13, 2016 at 10:00am in the commission room in the courthouse.
