The Braxton County Chapter of AARP, a non-profit entity, recently completed their fall fundraiser. They raffled chances to win a $100 gift card from the local Kroger store. The winning ticket was drawn on Wednesday, Nov. 1, during lunch in the Senior Center dining hall, by a visiting veteran.
Marvin Hickson was announced as the card winner. Hickson and his family reside in Gassaway.
AARP Braxton County Chapter appreciates everyone who contributed to this fundraiser. The proceeds from the raffle were used to pay the guest speaker who visited the seniors during the Fall Festival, and to purchase the Kroger gift card. The balance will go toward their licensing fees.
