The West Virginia division of highways has released latest information providing updates on costs and damage associated with the June 2016 flooding. The West Virginia Division of Highways continues to assess damage and make repairs, therefore, all information is subject to change.
Proper documents must be filed before the DOH receives any reimbursement funds. This process will start once roadway damage assessments are finalized.
These figures reflect the number of routes effected, not damage sites. There may be multiple damage sites on an individual route. Routes may be duplicated from county to county if damaged occurred on WV and US Routes or Interstates.
Type of damage includes roadway washouts, road slides and slips, damaged or clogged culverts, embankment and shoulder erosion, clogged ditches, and trees and debris on roadway.
