Clay’s three county commissioners sported their Team Carson shirts during Wednesday’s meeting in support of the toddler Carson Brown, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
The Clay County Commission met Tuesday morning for the last time in the month of October. With little on the agenda, the meeting passed quickly. The approval of minutes, bills and purchase orders came first. The last will and testament of Clifford Parsons was approved, with Susan Workman appointed executrix. Requests of waivers for the final settlements of the estates of Emery Workman, Doris Moore, Arlene Walker, Clarence Stone and Earl McCune were all approved.
Sheriff Garrett Samples requested that various tracts of land be removed from the delinquent land sale and received approval to do so. Charles Miller resigned as a member of the Clay Roane Public Service District board, with no replacement being named.
The next item of business was to approve the job description for the Clay County E911 address coordinator/emergency services director/flood plain manager position, currently held by Stacy King. Also, a public hearing will be held at the Lizemores Volunteer Fire Department on November 12 at 12:00 noon to elect one Board Member for Census Tract #9581. If you are interested, please plan to attend. With all members in agreement, a motion to adjourn followed. The group will gather again for a public meeting on November 12, 2014 at 10:00 am.
