The annual Robert “Cheif” Siwo basketball camp got underway this past week. Youth from the ages of 7 to 14 had the opportunity for a unique basketball learning experience. Participants were able to gain knowledge in skills beyond the normal bounds of basketball; skills that will enable them to be at the top of their game. They learned dribbling, shooting, ball handling, passing, and defensive skills. They also learned how to better communicate on the floor during the game. Maintaining a discipline throughout their practice routine was also taught. Robert “Cheif” Siwo played for the University of Charleston where he became leading scorer and led in assists. He has coached many players who have went on to play in even bigger basketball arenas. It was a good time and a great learning experience for all the kids. Thanks to Kim Carroll for organizing this opportunity for the basketball players in Clay County.
