Clay County Commission held their bimonthly meeting on Wednesday September 14, 2016. The meeting was short and with little on the agenda.
A request of waiver of final settlement for the estates of Linda L Fitzwater, Jim Bill Gray and Hollene A. Morris, deceased was approved. The last will and testament of David B. Flaughers, deceased, and the appointment of Steven Flaughers, ancillary executor, was approved. The last will and testament of Curtis Wayne Adkins, deceased, and the appointment of Deborah Jean Yost, ancillary executrix, was approved. The last will and testament of Dewey Edward Serls and the appointment of Dewey E. Serls Jr., executor, was approved. The last will and testament of Henry King and the appointment of Dorothy J. King, executrix was approved. The last will and testament of Douglas F. Osborne and the appointment of Janet S. Osborne, executrix, was approved. The last will and testament of Virginia Mae Hershberger and the appointment of Arthur B. Dobbins and Judy Carol Dobbins, co-executors, was approved. Michael Salisbury, administratrix DBN with the will annexed of the estate of Gary G Salisbury.
The commissioners then approved the motion to proclaim September 2016 as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month for Clay County.
A motion to accept bids for floor tile was approved, followed by awarding the contract to Smiths Carpet One to install floor tile in the courthouse areas per the September 2, pre-bid meeting.
