Clay County is overflowing with kind-hearted, dedicated, giving people who deserve recognition for their goodness. The Clay County Business Development Authority wants to make sure these folks know just how important they are to our county.
September: B.J. Smith
Smith is the administrator at the Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home in Clay. He works tirelessly, making sure that a person’s burial wishes are honored. The CCBDA appreciates all the work and long hours put into assisting families after the loss of a loved one. They also want to applaud you for what you give to our community.
October: Greg Fitzwater
Fitzwater currently serves as the Clay County Commission president. As acting EMS director at the time, he spent many sleepless nights and barely ate in the weeks after the flood of June 2016. He worked hard to find food, shelter, and help for those affected in our county. “Mr. Fitzwater, your genuine commitment to our people sets you apart from the rest. We are indebted to you for your sacrifice,” said the CCBDA.
November: Jason Hubbard
Hubbard sits on the Clay Town Council and has recently been appointed mayor for the town. He also serves on different boards to try and help with current local social, political, and economic issues. The CCBDA thanks him for his care and input on how to better our beautiful county.
“Because of your positive efforts to make our home successful, the people of Clay County salute you! Great job, Gentlemen,” said the CCBDA.
