The CWVAC Championship Meet at Ravenswood this past Saturday proved to be a strong showing for local athletes, with standout performances earning several runners all-conference honors.
Marissa Atha and Gunner Dobbins led the way, each earning First Team All-Conference recognition for their impressive races. Atha placed fourth in the girls’ race with a time of 13:53, while Dobbins finished ninth in the boys’ division, clocking in at 13:29.
Joining them on the All-Conference list were Danae Stricker and Sam Hubbard, who each secured Second Team All-Conference honors. Stricker crossed the finish line in 19th place with a time of 15:50, and Hubbard finished 14th in 14:26. Holden Reed narrowly missed a medal, placing 21st, capping off a determined effort on a competitive day.
Also competing for the girls’ team were Tara Conley, Lilian Goebel, and Dolores Poland, each contributing to the team’s strong performance. The boys’ team effort was bolstered by Mason James, James Mullens, and Scott Butler, who ran hard and supported their teammates throughout the race.
Both teams demonstrated grit and dedication throughout the season, culminating in a proud showing at the championship meet.
