Well, winter seemed to come and go all season, and now that spring sports have arrived, it latched onto us once again last week. However, by the time you read this, baseball and softball will be well underway and players will already have a couple of games under their belts.
Track also begins this week in Doddridge County. The CCHS track team has grown into a dynasty and is making their presence known on the track fields. Some 88 students turned out to be a part of the team. The Panthers will have some super-fast runners, and Trevor Armes will be trying to retain his state champion title in the 400 meter.
The Panther baseball team had their first two games cancelled last week due to the weather; after all, it is March. The CCMS baseball team will once again try and dominate the diamond as they have in the past.
New coach Leslie Osborne will take the helm of the CCMS softball team. Assisting her will be Bette Ware. It should be a great season for all the teams, and it will all get started this week if the weather holds out.
So, come out and enjoy a hot dog and a game.
