Curtis Litton, a junior, has made CCHS history by becoming the first Panther basketball player to earn and be named to the LKC AA First Team All State team. Litton averaged 15.6 points a game along with 10.7 rebounds a game. Curtis still has one more left to play as a Panther and continues to get better, so who knows what 2022 has in store for him? He would be the first to tell you that it took a team, not just an individual, to get a player this distinction. His team mate, Tanner Faulkner, made the LKC 2nd Team All State and was named captain. Also, Colton Pritt was named LKC 2nd team All State, and Ethan Burkhamer and Grant Krajeski received LKC Honorable Mention as well. Congratulations to Curtis and all the rest of the players for their great season and awards.
However, it was not just the players this year. For a long time, Scott Gibson has coached the boys year after year and has put his heart and soul into the CCHS basketball team. He has coached some of the best that’s ever played at CCHS and has coached rebuild seasons as well as seasons where the team seemed unstoppable. He has always been there on the sideline for the boys and never gave up on them. This year he has finally been given the recognition of being named LKC Coach of the Year. It is a well deserved title and long overdue. Congratulations to Coach Gibson and the rest of the award winners!
