The CCPIF A, B, C and Flag teams were at home this week against Roane. Let’s just say it was butt whippin’ time at Bradley Field on Saturday. It was sunny and hot, and the players were ready to play football.
The Flag team was up first and did a good job against Roane County. The C team was up next, and the game went back and forth with neither team gaining the advantage over the other. It wasn’t until late in the fourth when Brody Scarbro broke through the defense of Roane and took it to the house for the TD. That’s the way it ended up Clay C team 6, Roane C team 0.
The C team defense was relentless in their pursuit of the ball, and there was just nowhere for the Roane Raiders to run. B-team was up next, and they held class in football offense and defense. Their defense is like blood hounds to a bear with stopping power. It doesn’t make any difference how big the other team is, the Clay B team will answer the call. They are some of the toughest pound for pound players in the league. Clay B team was ranked No. 1 with Roane County running a close second. It was slated to be a good game and it was.
The offense, led by quarterback Noah Collins, ran the ball down the throat of the B team Raiders. The offensive line of the Panthers schooled the Raiders in blocking, opening up the lanes for Collins and company. Simply put, they’re good all around the field, offensively and defensively, and they will be tough to beat. When the last whistle blew, it was Clay B team 27, Roane B team 0.
The A team took to the field next, and it was no different. The team, under the direction of quarterback Jake Legg, took the ball down field looking like the two-minute offense of the Dallas Cowboys of old. There was just no stopping them.
The Panther A team has an arsenal that they can hit you with, whether it is an air attack or ground game, the A team has it covered. The defense, well, all you can say is they’re fast and tough. They broke through to the back field more times than not, and the field was littered with walking wounded.
It was a rough and tough game with the Panther A team coming out on top 33-0. The regular season is almost over, and they will soon be in the playoffs. The CCPIF Super Bowl will be held at Bradley Field, and if the Panther A, B and C teams stay healthy and keep playing this hard, they will be tough to beat. The teams are loaded with talent and will have a better than good chance to be in the Super Bowl.
Check your schedules for the next game.
