Rain dampens games this week

It was an almost rain out this past week with most of the games being cancelled due to the weather, but there were a couple of games played between the storms.

The Panther baseball team got a game in against Valley Fayette and stomped them 21-3.

The Lady Panther softball team fell off the wagon against the Lady Red Devils of Calhoun County. The Ladies had been on a dead run towards a great winning streak when the brakes were put on. The Lady Red Devils came out swinging for the fences. Errors hung around like an after dinner mint on the Lady Panthers, and their bats iced up.

The talent is there, but the errors have to take a powder. Six of the players were on a field trip and will be back this week to pick up the slack. The Lady Panthers have a tough week of games with Herbert Hoover starting things off on Monday evening. They have six games scheduled this week, so if you get the chance, get out and catch a game. I am sure the Calhoun game was just a little bump in the road. The final score of the game was Lady Panthers 0, Lady Red Devils 10.

The Panthers will be in action as well, with four of their games on the road, starting with Roane on Tuesday evening. Their only home game will be Wednesday night against Calhoun County. Track will hit the field running at Richwood on Tuesday evening and have a good chance at winning the match.

The weather looks like it will hold off this week with no rain, but we will see. Catch a game and support your Clay County teams.
