The Panthers played a good game against the tough Gilmer County on Thursday night, but as luck would have it, they dropped their second game in a row.
The Panthers, now 1-10 for the season, can’t seem to get the game going their way.
The boys came out swinging, but the ball wasn’t hitting the bat. They were down 16-31 at the half and had some major catching up to do. Isaac Workman was getting the job done in the field with most of his 17 points coming in the second half. Thomas Haverty had 13 points and Zach Dorsey was on the boards with 11. They couldn’t get a hold on the offense of Gilmer, who notched 19 points in the third period against the Panthers. The Panthers made a run for the win in the fourth period, scoring 21 points against Gilmer’s 9, but it was too little, too late.
The final score ended up Panthers 46, Gilmer 59. The Panthers will be on a two-game road trip starting in Webster County on Thursday night.
