By Allen Hamrick

It was Regional time for the CCHS track team. Here they would run, jump, and throw their way into CCHS track history.  Here they would also have to place in the top three of any event to move on to state level competition. There were some high hopes for the Panther team to get into the state competition. For the Lady Panthers, Jayda Stricker just missed the cut placing 4th in the 300 meter hurdles. The Lady Panther 4×102.5 team placed 5th in the event, missing the cut by just seconds. For the Panther boys, Evan Bass placed 2nd in the 110 meter hurdles and is part of the 2nd place shuttle hurdle team. Daymian Stricker qualified in the high jump placing 3rd and 4th in the pole vault as well as being a part of the shuttle hurdle team. Takota Quinn just missed the cut in the 300 meter hurdles placing 4th in the event. All in all, the team did well – not as good as they had wished but next season they will once again be stacked with talent. Who knows? Maybe they will send a bus full to the states. However, this year we have some good athletes who will represent the Panthers well at the state competition. Congratulations to all the boys who are on their way to Laidley field. The state competition will be held on the 17th and 18th of May.

Evan Bass will compete in the 110 meter hurdles.
