Lady Panther volleyball regular season came to a close this past week with a tough outing against Charleston Catholic. With the LKC tournament and sectionals coming up, the Lady Panthers would have liked to have a win under the belt going in. However, it was not to be on this night. The Lady Panthers have some girls that can get in the air and knock a ball down on the other side of the net that one would think might knock a hole in the floor. The girls in the backfield can dig in and save points when the ball is just inches from the floor, but mistakes can plague a team, especially in volleyball.
The Lady Panthers battled Charleston Catholic for the full five games and came up short in the tie breaker 13-15. It was a tough loss but the Lady Panthers got their game on at the LKC tournament and took down Wirt County but went head to head against Ritchie County and came up short and settled for second place. With Sectionals coming up, the Lady Panthers will have to get the bugs worked out because they have to place there to move on to the Regionals. There is a lot of tough volleyball to play in order to make it to the final dance like they did last year. The ladies have the power and skill to be the best in the state but the bugs need to stay home. Good luck Lady Panthers.
