Well, the season for the Lady Panthers softball is almost over. This past week the Ladies couldn’t match bats with the Lady Grizzlies in Nicholas County.
Alexis Williams took the hill and was throwing the heat, literally. However, when you connect the bat with a fast ball, things happen, and they did for the Lady Grizzlies. By the end of the first inning, the Lady Grizzlies crossed home plate six times, and the Lady Panthers couldn’t retaliate. By the 4th inning, the Lady Panthers managed to get three runs, but it just wasn’t enough. The Lady Panthers threw in the towel by the 4th inning with the score being Lady Panthers 3, Lady Grizzlies 13. Earlier in the week, the Lady Panthers were on fire, defeating the Lady Red Devils of Calhoun two games in a double header, short gaming them 10-0 in the first game and 15-5 in the second. The Lady Panthers will have a couple more opportunities to keep their season going on the diamond before hanging up their cleats for 2018. They will start Sectionals on Tuesday at Roane County against Lewis county, and a win here will keep the Lady Panthers on the field. Go Lady Panthers!
