The Lady Panther Volleyball team has been playing some pretty good ball lately and looks like a team once again destined for glory at the state competition. However, this past week they did not fair too well against the Lady Tigers of Chapmanville. Scott High School was also supposed to be at the tournament but didn’t show. This left the evening’s entertainment up to the Lady Panthers and the Lady Tigers.
The first game of the set was one of those games a player has nightmares about. The Lady Panthers couldn’t get a point on the board as the Lady Tigers ran up a skunk type score of 0-13.  The Lady Panthers finally got on the boards, but it was ugly as they went down in flames in the first game.
In the second game however, the Lady Panthers looked like a team again and defeated the Lady Tigers 25-21. Then, as in all volleyball games, it is whichever team  that makes the most mistakes in a game that will invariably lose the game. The Lady Panthers couldn’t seem to get the ball down within the real estate of the Lady Tigers and lost the next two games.
In all losses a team learns their mistakes and builds on them. The Lady Panthers will be in action Tuesday night at home, game time 6:30 p.m. The Lady Panthers have just a handful of games left to play in the season. Come out and support them as they try and get back to the state competition.
