Layla Stewart hits for two points.

By Allen Hamrick

The Lady Mustangs were at home this past week and provided Richwood Middle with a post-holiday thumpin’. They looked as though they could not be stopped on the courts and they weren’t. They turned the Lady Lumberjacks into sawdust by the end of the first period. That’s not to say that the Lady Lumberjacks didn’t get into the action, but as for scoring they may have as well just bought a lottery ticket against the defense of the Lady Mustangs.

The final score was a jaw dropping 53-14. During the first half of the game, the ball never seemed to cross center court before it was turned over to the Lady Mustangs. With hands quick as lightning, they stole the ball, out dribbled, out shot and out rebounded the Lady Lumberjacks every minute of the game. There is not a lot that can be said about the game other than the Lady Mustangs went on a steamrolling binge. They will be tried by fire soon as Braxton will roll onto the Lady Mustang turf on Wednesday. Last time they met the Lady Knights beat the Lady Mustangs by the smallest margin. If they continue to play like they have the Lady Knights will have problems. Come out and support the Lady Mustangs.
