The Lady Mustangs have put a wall of fire about them that opposing teams just can’t touch. These girls should be called The Lady Mustang Guillotines; they are tough, bring a fight to every game and leave it all in the dust. These girls put the B in beast mode. They faced off against four teams this past week and sent them all to the cooler. First up to the Lady Mustang Guillotine was Oak Hill who went down 12-5 followed by a double header in which Braxton went down in flames both games 19-4 and 18-0. Then Calhoun blew into town and got scrubbed 11-1, and finally South Harrison came in with some heavy bats but couldn’t get past Lady Mustang defense; they too went down 14-6. Each one of the teams needed their fairy godmothers to fire up their carriage because midnight would be too late. It was plain, good ol’ fashioned butt kicking at the hands of the Lady Mustangs.
The Lady Mustangs got their bats heated up in the first game and didn’t stop swinging till the week was over. For example, in the Calhoun game Layla Parker took the hill for the Lady Mustangs, proceeded to throw heat and added a little magic to some pitches. When she was done slinging, she KOed ten batters and gave up just three hits. At the plate Jaedon Delwarte, Peyton Johnson, and Brooklyn Morton were all swinging some heavy aluminum. JD was 2-2 with a double, two RBI’s ripped off two bases and scored twice. PJ, was 3-3 at the plate with three singles and four RBI’s. BM was 2-3 at the plate with a triple, double scored twice and had one RBI. These Lady Mustangs are deep on the bench and have the opportunity to take this season all the way to the championship.
Plainly put, the Lady Mustangs are a softball machine that tramples anyone who faces them into the dust. They are now 12- 2 on the season and can match bats with anyone on the diamond. They will have another heavy week this week and will be tested once again. The Lady Mustangs have been long overdue for the championship ring, and 2024 is a good opportunity to bring the trophy to the halls of CCMS. Go Lady Mustangs!
