The Panther wrestling team was in Calhoun County for the Calhoun County Invitational this past Saturday. Twelve teams from around the state competed for honor and bragging rights. The Panthers are a good team and packed with talent, and they had some talent here to butt heads with.
Some of the toughest teams in the state compete at this tournament. Most of the Panther team put up a good fight, and two of them went into the final rounds. Blake Coleman placed first and Caiden Bryant placed second. Harry Miller, Landon Delwarte, and Eddy Metheney all took third place, and Cameron Nelson placed fourth. The Panther team placed fourth overall.
Panther wrestling will be at St Mary’s High School for LKC competition this Saturday, Feb. 14. The following weekend, they will be at Hoover for regional competition to determine who moves on to state level competition. Their season is winding down, too, so make sure you get out and watch the Panther wrestling team light up the mats. Congratulations to Blake Coleman and the rest of the Panther team.
