Surrounded by teammates, friends, coaches and family, Clay County High School volleyball player Gracen Huntyre Samples signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball at Glenville State College (Division II) in Glenville, West Virginia. Gracen played in 183 matches over her four years at Clay County High School. She was a four year starter leading the Lady Panthers to a 118-62-3 record over these four years.
In 2013, Gracen helped guide the CCHS Lady Panthers to its tournament win at Point Pleasant High School, the 1st LKC Final 4 appearance and the 1st Sectional Title in school history. She also helped the Lady Panthers to a Regional Runner Up win leading to their 2nd State Tournament appearance in school history.
In 2014, Gracen and the Lady Panthers continued their record setting with another tournament win at Buffalo, LKC Final 4 appearance, Sectional Runner Up and the schools 1st Regional Title. They ended the season as State Runner Up. 2014 also included the first Lady Panthers to be selected to the Volleyball State Tournament All-Tournament Team.
Gracen completed her senior season being selected to the All Tournament Team at the State Tournament, 1st Team All State and 1st Team LKC. During her career at Clay County High School, she was named LKC 2nd Team 2012, LKC 1st Team 2013 and 2014, All State Honorable Mention 2012, All State 2nd Team 2013, All State 1st Team 2014 and 5 All Tournament Teams over the past 4 years. She had 1181 Kills, 409 Aces, 291 Blocks and 584 Digs recorded.
Gracen would like to thank all who supported her throughout her volleyball career that has helped her achieve her dream of playing at college level.
