The CCHS football team has taken the field this year to see who can catch better, throw the farthest, and hit the hardest. That’s right, the 2015 football season is just around the corner, and even though the number of players are down this year, the quality of players is outstanding. The boys seem to have a great attitude of winning despite the low numbers. Many of the players were getting set for this season by hitting the weights in preparation for some heart pounding action. This week they will break out the uniforms and start doing some real life hitting.
Panther linemen, for all intents and purposes, will work on opening more holes than a machine gun for the backs and protect their beloved quarterback at the cost of personal pain. They will be a little lighter than last year but faster at the same time. Offensively, there will be a few changes, but it looks like a lethal combination of passing and running. Soon there will be the snap at the line followed by a chaos of grunts and battle cries filling the air and finally bodies hit the ground as flesh and bone crumble on impact. That all begins at the first scrimmage against Summers County on Saturday, August 15th, and it starts at 1:00 at Summers County. If you can make the trip, I am sure it will be worth it. The CCHS Panthers will be a team to reckon with this year, so don’t miss a game if you can help it.
