The Lady Panther Volleyball team doubled up this past week going head to head with South Harrison and then Gilmer at home. Against South Harrison, the Lady Panthers managed to get one of the games under their belt but ended up losing the match 1-3. They also had a match between them and Gilmer at home and it was a doozie. The last time these two met, Gilmer iced the Lady Panthers 2-3, but not this night. This time the Lady Panthers had the taste of loser in their mouths after the beating from South Harrison and an earlier game against Greenbrier West. Gilmer stood in their way of a much needed win, and the Lady Panthers took it to Gilmer defeating them in a barn burner three games to two. They will be at home on Tuesday in a
tri match against Capitol and Buffalo.
The Lady Mustangs have been cracking the whip riding on a three game winning streak. First up was Ravenswood who travelled all the way down here just to get tarred and feathered. It was a Lady Mustang hoof beating as they won the match 2-0. They then took their show on the road and set up the octagon against George Washington and Spencer in a tri match. It was the Lady Mustangs at their finest volleyball mashing speed. George Washington was first up and it was no contest as the Lady Panthers rolled over them 2-0. Next up Spencer who gave the Lady Mustangs a little more effort and took one of the games, but the Lady Mustangs came out on top 2-1. They will play away at Braxton on Monday and away again at Valley on October 2. Come out and support the teams as the season is near its half way point.
