Have you ever wondered about a life without walls, a life without simply being one of the status quo? We must work, pay bills, raise a family and take care of our social calendar, but there are times when sitting on a couch and watching TV just doesn’t cut it. We live in a time when your age somewhat defines who you are or what you can do according to the status quo. In our everyday life, we battle fatigue, sickness, worry, loneliness, fear and, at times, enjoy the good life among the uncertainties.
A person can change their life by making choices that defy the odds and graphs that say you can’t do whatever you enjoy. So, it is time to enjoy the great outdoors whether you hunt, fish, go off-roading, read a book, hike the mountains or, my personal choice, mountain biking. It is one sport among many that will take you to the absolute limits of your lungs, that will allow you to experience fear but dictate the level of it, that will give you the opportunity to let your hair down no matter your age and get dirty, wet, sore, busted up and healthy at the same time. The only gas you need is what is within, and with each pump of a pedal, it only gets better. There is no need for pavement; downhill, water, mud, rocky creeks are all great trails. It also affords you the opportunity to reach places in our great state that can only be attained by hiking or biking. Strap on your helmet, find your trail and pick a line. You will not regret it.
