Clay wrestlers, along with wrestlers from surrounding counties, were given the opportunity to participate in a wrestling camp hosted by Roane County and WVU wrestling legend Dylan Cottrell.
There were twenty-four youth that showed up to learn and be put through the paces, starting with vigorous stretching and an introduction to new wrestling techniques that will further their abilities as wrestlers. With hard work and determination, any one of the young wrestlers could be holding up their state champion trophy. The camp was part of the Coalfield Conference, WV Youth Wrestling Association. The camp will benefit both the CCHS and CCMS wrestling programs. Both wrestling programs should be pretty stacked with talent this year with the CCMS team back defending their championship title. This camp was a great opportunity to learn valuable skills from one of the best local wrestlers to ever grapple on a mat.
