A body found in the Elk River this week has been positively identified. Authorities say 82 year old Barba Chapman’s body was found by family members near a bridge going into the town of Gassaway. Although the death was unattended, deputies do not believe her death is suspicious. Chapman’s body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.
