After snow forced the regular scheduled Board of Education meeting to be canceled on Monday, the group met for March’s first meeting on Thursday evening at Clay Elementary. The meeting began with the approval of the agenda, minutes, and payment of current bills. $625,492 was transferred within the budget as Kevin Isaacs gave a financial update.
Assistant coaches for three high school sports were approved; Mackenzie Langman as the assistant softball coach, Doug Thomas as assistant baseball coach and Corey Stricker as assistant track coach. The Clay High TSA, Clay HOSA and the Clay High FFA were approved to take overnight trips this spring.
Discussions included the LSIC Committee, the updated wellness policy, the affordable care act, and the 2014-2015 school calendar. The next scheduled meeting in March 17, 2014.
