Board of Education Meeting

The Board of Education meeting was held on Monday, September 15, 2014 at the board office. The meeting began at 6:00pm with opening prayer given by President R.B. Legg. The meeting then took off with the a couple changes to the agenda. The meeting then went into executive session regarding the status for a Clay Elementary Student. The student will be expelled and taught home bound for the next 12 months.

Cathy Craddock resigned as the Head Volleyball Couch at the Clay Middle School and Anissa Collins was voted to take Mrs. Craddock’s place as head coach. Tony Salisbury is the new fuel monitor for Clay County Schools. George Workman and Brenda Griffin were hired as Multi- classification –bus operator, truck driver, and Handyman-woman. Genevie Deboard was hired as a substitute bus driver for bus #3. Brian Collins and Gary Boggs were approved as volunteer coaches for the Clay Middle School Volley Ball team. John Osborne was also approved as a volunteer for the 9th grade High School basketball team. Krechella Nichols Evans is the new substitute teacher pending her certification. There are also four new substitute custodians and four substitute cooks, pending background checks. There are still talks of the random drug testing to go on at the Clay High School with no definite decisions made. The next meeting will be held on September 29, 2014.
