The Clay County Business Development Authority has received a Governor’s Participation Grant for $12,000.00 to assist in the removal of abandoned and dilapidated buildings in our county. The BDA will be working closely with our magistrates, the DNR, our county sanitarian and our county commissioners on this project. Owners of such properties will receive a notice that their property has been identified as a dilapidated structure and the BDA will work with them to come up with a plan to clean up their property. Clean up will be at the property owner’s expense. Property owners who fail to comply with a clean-up plan will be referred to the county magistrates.
