There will be a WV Farmers Market Nutrition Program (WVFMNP) Vendor Training on Tuesday, May 2 at 5:00 p.m. at the Roane County Library located at 110 Parking Plaza in Spencer, WV. Additional training may be held on an as needed basis.
This training is open to anyone interested in participating in the program that permits farmers market vendors to accept USDA-funded coupons from senior citizens and WIC recipients. The training, should take approximately 30 minutes.
Training is offered on a regional basis to accommodate markets and farmers. At the training, farmers will receive a 2017 Farmers Market Guidebook, civil rights training manual, an application, and an agreement form. These may be filled out at the training or taken home and mailed to the West Virginia Department of Agriculture’s address on the application. All applications with agreements must be returned before May 19, 2017 to be included on a printed list published by the WV Department of Agriculture.
Market managers and participating farmers who have not been trained in the past three years, must attend training on the WVFMNP policies and procedures to be eligible for the program. If you are a past participant who attends the training, please bring your stamp number. If a new stamp is needed, one may be requested on the application you complete.
