ATTENTION! The 2013 Quilt Show is now open to all past and present residents of Clay County.
The dates for the 2013 Quilt Show are Thursday, September 19, 2013, 10:00am to 8:00pm.; Friday, September 19, 2013, 10:00am to 8:00 pm and Saturday, September 20, 2013, 10:00am to 3:00pm.
Entry registration will be in the new Clay county Courthouse Annex on September 17, 2013 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. The quilts will be judged on September 18, 2013. Announcement of the winners will be made during opening ceremonies of the festival on Thursday, September 19, 2013. It is recommended that all quilt entries have a hanging sleeve attached. Directions for application of the hanging sleeve can be on the back of the entry forms or on the web site. www.claygoldendeliciousfestival.com.
Entered quilts may be picked up between 10:00am and 3:00pm on Saturday September 21, 2013.
The categories for entry of quilts are hand-made, machine-made, hand and machine-made, stamped (embroidery or cross stitched) and baby. Premiums will be awarded for best of show, queen’s choice and first place in each quilt category.
A quilt previously entered in The Clay Golden Delicious Apple Festival Quilt Show cannot be entered but may be displayed in the heritage category. They will not be judged but may be voted on as the People’s Choice. The public is encouraged to visit the quilt show and vote for their favorite quilt. The entry receiving the most votes will be awarded a People’s Choice Ribbon and a hand-made quilt rack donated by the Clay County Bank.
Needlecraft items may be entered in the following categories: embroidery, knitting, crochet and miscellaneous items.
All entries will be judged by Barbara Jones of Glenville, WV. She is a candidate in the National Quilting Association’s Judge Certification program.
