The Clay County Commission met for a regular session meeting on November 8, 2017. The meeting was opened and the previous meeting minutes were approved. A motion to approve the bills and purchase orders as presented were approved. A motion to approve the erroneous assessments as presented but the Assessor was approved.
A motion to approve the “Request of Waiver of Final Settlement” for the estates of Elizabeth Ann Pauley and Randolph Jay Pauley, Sr., deceased, was approved. A motion to approve a “Final Settlement” report for the estate of Billy C. Miller, deceased, was approved. A motion to confirm probating the Last Will and Testament of Olive Bullard Friend, deceased, and the appointment of Garry Huston Bullard, Executor, was approved. A motion to confirm probating the Last Will & Testament of Richard Owen Welch and the appointment of Traci Lee Welch, Executrix, was approved. A motion to confirm probating the Last Will & Testament of Violet Luvina Murphy, deceased, and the appointment of Charles Edward Murphy, Executor, was approved. A motion to approve the appointment of Diana Gail Hall, Administratrix of the estate of Essie Bessie Jarrell, deceased, was approved.
A motion to approve the resignation of Tina Richards as Deputy Director of the Clay County E911 Communication Center effective October 23, 2017 was approved. A motion to approve an “Annual Maintenance Agreement” for a Gestetner DSM730e copier located in the County Commission’s office for October 29, 2017 thru October 28, 2018 in the amount of $450 was approved. A motion to approve an Audit Report for the Clay Roane Public Service District for fiscal year ending June 30, 2015 and June 30, 2016 was approved.
A motion to approve the promotion of Deputy Ryan Thomas to the rank of Deputy First Class effective November 1, 2017 was approved, with no pay increase. A motion to hire Rose Ann Nottingham as a part-time as needed Dispatcher for Clay County E911 Communications Center at the rate of $10 per hour and without benefits was approved. Her employment will be effective November 8, 2017 pending successful completion of a background check and drug screening. A motion to hire Lisa Truman as a part-time as needed dispatcher for Clay County E911 Communications Center at the rate of $10 per hour and without benefits was approved. Her employment will be effective November 8, 2017 pending successful completion of a background check and drug screen. A motion to move into an executive session for a personnel issue was approved. Afterwards, President Greg Fitzwater stated that no decision had been made.
