The Clay County Ag Fair was in full swing this past weekend at the Clay County Park in Maysel. Kids from all ages could be seen setting up their exhibits on the park grounds Wednesday evening, as all were anticipating the weekend event. Animals began weighing in on Friday morning with events all weekend.
Kick-off started on Friday, July 23, with ribbon cutting at 6:30 p.m. The market hog show began at 7 p.m. On Saturday July 24, the rabbit, lamb, goat, chicken and calf show was held, followed by the livestock auction.
The exhibitor family held a buyer’s dinner Saturday before the livestock auction began. Board Member Brian Gould would always ensure a sizable feast for this event. His recent passing has hit this event hard and he missed by the entire organization.
