Listening to the news Sunday night I heard a report that is very distressing to me. The newscaster said that one hour after the super bowl was over a missile flew over the city of San Francisco, California. They said it had been launched by North Korea. Someone said it was one hour late in getting to our country. It was supposed to arrive during the game. I hope that concerns you as it does me.
My concern is this. Why was that missile not shot down long before it approached the coastline of the United States? Suppose it had been an armed missile, perhaps even with a nuclear warhead. North Korea is a rogue nation and they would love to kill Americans. They said it was only a test rocket. What kind of test? They have proven that they have the ability to reach our nation with disaster. I say it again. Why was that missile not destroyed long before it got near our shores?
Secretary of State Kerry mumbled that it was not acceptable and would not be tolerated. I have heard nothing from the White House or Congress either for that matter except that the President wanted to talk to North Korea. The next missile may not be just a test or just pass overhead.
Am I fearful of what might be next? No, not for myself. I believe God is watching over me. I am concerned for the sake of the people of San Francisco or Los Angeles or San Diego or Seattle. Next time, if there should ever be a next time, it might deliver horrendous consequences. Perhaps the next missile will originate from Iran and might not be just a test. Will we wait to see if it is armed? Somebody needs to wake up. We are only one missile away from disaster and a world war. Is there hope? Certainly! Read II Chronicles 7:14 which declares “ If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Our President has declared that we are no longer a Christian nation. Are we? Someone once said the words to the effect of “if we were accused of being a Christian nation, would there be enough evidence to convict us? I pray that the answer would overwhelmingly be YES! Maranatha!
Editor’s note: Research of major news outlets indicates that the launch which was visible immediately following the Super Bowl was a North Korean Satellite, not a missile.
