Dear Editor,
Understanding that Long-Term Recovery Committees are new to some, I would like to explain that this is not just a group of people that wanted to get together and start a club.
Long-Term Recovery groups, councils, committees are formed all over the nation and are effective and a vital asset to communities after a disaster and staying in place in preparation for a crisis. Long-Term Recovery committees are made and daily worked at with dedicated volunteers throughout the community and organizations of many sorts that come together with what they can help the committee with (labor, materials or financial support)  to get unmet needs in every way filled and bring hope, rebuilds and resources to residents.
Our meetings are every Thursday at 6 p.m. at 4086 Ivydale Road in clay. Our headquarters number is 304-587-4700. We are in need of help with resources and volunteers to reach all the needs. It is truly a challenge in a town so far away from so many resources and help.
