Those Who are Wise Shall Shine
By Lee Roy Anderson
Those Who are Wise Shall Shine. That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is upon the sea shore and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies. Genesis, 22:17. The Bible concept of two Israels, one physical and the other spiritual is validated by God’s Revelation to Abraham concerning his seed, God showed Abraham his spiritual seed in Genesis 22:17.
God mentions two separate and distinct elements stars of the heaven and sand of the seashore. The stars of the heaven represent the church, or spiritual Israel. Stars as light rule the darkness which is the commission of the Church. Jesus said, you are the light of the world. Matthew 5:14 Jesus is called the bright and morning star. Rev 22:16 Daniel 12:3 tells us those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever. A star gave guidance and led wise men to the house in Bethlehem where Jesus was. Stars are heavenly not earthly, they represent the church’s spiritual Israel.
The sand of the seashore on the other hand is earthly and represents an earthly kingdom with a literal Jerusalem as the capital city. Both stars and sand exist at the same time and neither ever replaces the other. Just so the nation of Israel and spiritual Israel, the church exist at the same time and do not replace each other. The Bible is our set of by-laws for a good life, and the ten commandments throughout the sacred scripture are instructions for living a good life for ourselves and for causing no harm to anyone else.
All scripture is for instruction. Righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16. You will learn about these Biblical by-laws by attending your house of worship. God is light and in him no darkness. 1 John 1:5. If we walk in the light as He is in the light we have fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ has son cleanseth us from all sin.
