And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said look on us. Acts 3:4, Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer being the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called beautiful to ask alms of them that entered into the temple. Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
And Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. And Peter fastening his eyes upon him with John said look on us. And he gave heed unto them expecting to receive something of them. The church should have something to give. We have a gospel to preach. Then Peter said silver and gold have I none but such I have give thee.
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood and walked and entered with them into the temple walking and leaping and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God. See Acts 3:1-9. Look on us said Peter and John the world is looking on us verse 4. The world is looking what we are, what we say, what we believe, what we do, what we give. The world has a right to expect something from us we are the light of the world.
We are the salt of the earth. Yes the church should have something to give. We as a church have a gospel to preach. Yes we know the answer to man’s problem of sin, sorrow, sickness and separation. What we give should always be given in the name of Jesus Christ for the glory of God which is greater than silver or gold. A life was changed because of what they had. I have been asking myself lately why does today’s church seem to have such little impact? Are we the church making an impact on individual lives.
The surrounding community our country and the world looking upon us. We can learn a lot from a growing church in the book of acts. You cannot live wrong and die right.
