THE BIBLE

Clay Free Press by Clay Free Press

Usually when we think of the Bible we are referring to the King James Version.  It has been around for about 400 years and it is the one I use when I am teaching or preaching the Word of God.

The King James Version of the Bible is a translation from the Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic writings.  Prior to the King James Version there was no English translation and it was usually in Latin or perhaps German.

Did you know that for almost 2,000 years the Hebrew language was a dead language?  However, in these last days God has seen fit to revive the Hebrew language. Why? One reason is that the Word of God speaks prophetically and tells us that in the lasts days there would be an increase of knowledge.

Today there are many versions of the Bible available.  Some reject anything that is not the King James.  Others will grab anything and just because it says “Bible” they rely on what it says.  Which is wisdom?   Two people may see the same thing and express it differently.  They use different words based on their knowledge, education and experience.  You may understand the one and be confused by the other.  As an example in describing a wild animal one might say it was ferocious and another say it was dangerous.  Still someone else might say it was life threatening.  Which one was right?  All three.  They each saw the same thing but described it with different words.  Some of the Bibles are that way.  However, all are not accurate in their translations.  That is why I always refer to the King James Version.  There are other translations that are good and feed my spirit but I am careful to  check them for accuracy.  We must be careful, be wise and be blessed.

Remember, it was almost 1600 years after the Crucifixion and Pentecost that the King James Version of the Bible was written.  In those last 400 years we have gained knowledge and revelation of what the Bible says.  It has not changed for God does not change.  Some of the words in the KJV are not used today and hard to understand and apply correctly.  Language changes with time but truth does not change.

Da 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.  Surely that is true today.  Knowledge has increased.  Why would God leave out His Word?  If you would read Ezekiel’s description of an atomic bomb it would be hard to comprehend.  Not today.  We can readily see what he was describing over 2000 years ago.  The prophets didn’t understand Pentecost or salvation but today we can see it clearly.  Read God’s word for yourself so you will know the truth.
