Many Problems – Same Answer

Who among us has not had problems? We all have our difficulties. Some are fighting against sickness and some against disease. Some are severely stressed while others are besieged with financial woes. There are those that are bound in fear and others that covet and are never satisfied. Some hunger for power and fame and it is never enough.
Many have sought an answer through alcohol but when they wake up the next morning, the problem is still there and possibly even larger than it was yesterday. Some turn to drugs and hope that feeling good will make their adversities disappear. Still, others turn to religion to escape their dilemmas. While it may seem better for the moment, none of these things work.
What is the answer? Drugs and alcohol just fry the brain. Religion (and there are many) hands out worldly wisdom that soothes but does not fix.
What is the answer? The answer can only be found at the foot of the Cross. Jesus dealt with those issues by giving His life for us. His blood is the only thing that can cleanse us of the sin that confronts us. Doctors can treat but only God can heal. The answer is not a cross formed into a piece of jewelry and hung around the neck but it is a relationship that may not change the circumstances we are confronted with but will change us in our hearts enabling us to overcome for endure. Look at Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. It is more than the acquisition of knowledge of who Jesus is but it is receiving Him into your heart and taking His word, all of His word and applying it to your life. He may not change the circumstances but if He does not He will be right by your side to help you overcome. Jesus said in John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. The devil (thief) will do everything he can to destroy you. He will try sickness or disease. He will try confusion or deception. He will try to steal your joy or peace or even your desire to live. He will offer everything the world has to entice you but in the end it all comes to naught. All these things lead to death and an eternity in hell. Jesus is the answer, the only answer. Not only did He come that you might have life and that more abundantly, but He came to give all who will receive Him everlasting life with Him in Heaven. Your choice! Jesus loves you and will accept you just the way you are. Change comes after you receive Him, not before. You don’t have to understand but you do have to believe and in so doing ask Him to forgive you your sin and to come into your heart. He will, if you are serious. He is the answer.
