There is no doubt that times are changing.
Some say we must change with the times. Others say we should not change. Someone is wrong. The changing of times does require certain changes. Some good; some bad. We have spiraled from cash to checks to contracts to credit and debit cards. Whether that is good or bad is still in question.
Our nation has gone from being united to being divided on many fronts. Russia didn’t divide us. China didn’t divide us. Who did? Was it the black man or the white man? Was it Islam or Christianity? No, it was none of the above. It was the devil. He has sown the seeds of greed and selfishness in multitudes of hearts. Blinded, they no longer look to the good of the nation but are short sighted and cannot see past tomorrow. Flooded with recreational opportunities and “I have my rights,” we have become in many instances self centered and self-righteous.
Politicians have replaced patriots and true statesmen are almost a vanishing breed. All too often education has trampled common sense under foot I thank God for education but when it stands alone it will not stand long.
What should we do? At most we only know in part. We need leaders that are aware of their own weaknesses and inabilities. For several years we have been heading in the wrong direction and altering the course is not easy. We need help and where must it come from? Almighty God!
God’s Word says “Ro 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.”
We have just gone through an election. Many prayed for the right person to be elected. Whether we are speaking of the president or the governor, the people have voted and whether it was a Democrat or Republican they are ordained of God to lead us. You or I may not agree with their goals, methods or political affiliations but the elections are past. It is time we unite as a nation and come together for the good of this nation we all love. Mistakes will be made and misunderstands will occur but we must look beyond the end of our nose and see what challenges lie ahead and do our part to overcome them.
What did God say? Pray and believe. Love everyone, get along with those who rub you the wrong way as much as you can and forgive those that need forgiven. God made this a Christian nation and it is up to you and I to keep it that way.
As we humble ourselves before God and pray for those who have authority over us and walk in the light of His Word (the Holy Bible), God will cause us to prosper as a nation. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
Maranatha!
