We read this passage about a woman named Lydia who met with paul and Silas at a prayer meeting. Good things happen when we meet with others to pray. We can carry burdens for one another develop closer relationships with each other and with God. Read Acts 16:13-15. Prayer without faith is merely words but when we pray knowing God can do anything it changes everything.
The things we see in the lesson of prayer from the life of Elijah is how we prayed faithfully. It didn’t matter if it was praying fire down from heaven or calling for drought then rain he did it with faith. The Bible records how Elijah prayed for rain. He sent his servant out to see if it was on the way. The servant came back on the seventh time and told the prophet he saw a cloud the size of a man’s hand.
Elijah told him we need to get off this mountain for there is an abundance of rain coming. He prayed but he also believed we can see about the prayer life of Elijah. He prayed fruitfully. Heaven heard him when he prayed. We see in this text about Elijah was how he prayed frequently. He stayed in tune with the Lord. Jesus is a man of his word and we can rely on his promises. Psalm states weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning. Regardless of how bad things may seem now stay put and be patient. Place your faith in the lord and pray and wait on his direction in your life. God has a plan for you! He has a purpose for you!
Believers today need to stop beating around the bush and become more definite in their prayers. We must go to God’s throne humbly, recognizing God as the Almighty but also come Boldly recognizing who we are through Jesus Christ. When we go to the Throne Room of God praying specifically we must pray with faith and leave it there? Friend plead it, believe it and receive it for God’s Glory! You cannot live wrong and die right.
