My son keeps thy father’s commandment and forsakes not the law of thy mother. Proverbs 6:20. Proverbs 1:8 says, my son hear the instruction of thy father and forsake not the law of thy mother. E.H. Chapin said, there is no happiness in life there is any misery like that growing out of the dispositions which consecrate or desecrate a home. Bible says, exhortations underscore the crucial place of the home such as, For God commanded saying honor your father and mother, Matthew 15:4. Parents are entrusted with an awesome responsibility. The idea of raising a child or instruction a young boy or girl in the best way to live is incredible. Every mother and father questions the decisions they make hundreds of times in their lives. The ongoing prayer of most men and women is that will make good choices for their children. Their consolation comes from their children’s happiness and prosperity. When the bible says that children should honor their parents, it is saying that children should live in such a way that no dishonor should ever befall their mother’s and father’s. This is true of our relationship with our heavenly father. The bible says, in James 1:17 every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and cometh down from the father of lights with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. God wants only the best for us. He has given instruction not to show his power or might but, to help to live the best life we possibly can. HE only wants our peace and happiness. In turn we should live in such a way that he is honored. Our actions should reflect the quality of our upbringing. We should live as a proof of how much we love God. The home is a playground and workshop. Through both work and play the family learns self-discipline shared responsibility and loving interaction. The home is a haven of refuge where each family member should receive respect self-confidence and acceptance. A loving family is a lighthouse of love and spiritual values is a secular and broken-hearted world. Lighthouses warn weary travelers of both dangers and safety they point a clear way past destruction so Christians home point their members toward godly living and away from sinful destructive behaviors. Remember, enjoy the little things one day you may look back and realize they were the big things. A smile adds a great deal to face value.
