He is not here for he is risen as he said, come and see the place where the Lord lay. Matthew, 28:6. Why seek the living among the dead?
“He is risen as he said”, they were the words sent from the tomb. The Christ of the cross had conquered death’s gloom. Jesus Christ had risen victory over death and the grave. Good news from the graveyard after the resurrection on the road after to Emmaus. Jesus revealed himself to these men. They returned to Jerusalem to tell the disciples the good news that Jesus was alive!
When doubting Thomas placed his hand into the spear wound of the resurrected Christ this was good news from the graveyard. The 500 witnesses who testified of Christ’s resurrection, this was good news from the graveyard, because Jesus lives and we can live also. Yes, faithful Christians can have victory over death. Be sure to read in your Bible the resurrection Chapters,1 Corinthians 15 and 1 Thessalonians Chapter 4.
We all need to prepare for the return of Jesus Christ. We need to look forward to the resurrection of faithful Christians at Christ’s return when the last trumpet sounds. As it tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:52. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed. But the resurrection of deceased faithful Christians will be to eternal immortal life. That will take place at Christ’s return. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first, 1Thessalonians 4:16.
We learn that at the resurrection immortality begins when this mortal must put on immortality. 1Cor. 15:53. Yes you and I right now are mortal but faithful Christians will receive the gift of immortality at the resurrection. We shall be changed
On that day we will be completely satisfied. Psalm 17:15, says As for me I will behold thy face in righteousness I shall be satisfied when I awake with thy likeness. We shall have a glories body like him. Remember, for God’s people the sun is not setting. It is rising for God’s people, there are bigger and better things ahead for them.
