A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24. A man said, he had parties and many people showed up. They seemed to enjoy themselves enormously He said when he lost his job and the funds became scarce he cut his back on his entertaining. Many of his friends stopped coming around. A few friends stuck with him through and they kept coming back regardless of what he had to offer them. They were most concerned with how he was doing. The others were merely concerned with what they could get from him. Fair – weather friends are easy to come by. The real friends will stand by you no matter what comes or goes. It is devastating to think that we have good friends just to find out that they could care less about us when we hit hard times. We need to have friends we know will stick with us in bad times as well as good. Christ is one such friend. No matter what happens, Christ will be there when we need him. He will never turn us away, and he loves it when we come to him with our problems. There is no better friend that we can ever hope to have than Jesus Christ himself. His love never fails. Jesus Christ the same yesterday and today and forever. Heb.13:8. Matthew 28:20 says, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you and, Lo, I am with you always even unto the end of the world. God is trustworthy. When life gets tough, we need to trust someone. In you, O Lord I put my trust. When we are going through one of life’s storms the Great friend and physician has a prescription. He knows the burdens we carry and the tears we shed. He a friend sticketh closer than a brother.
