I celebrate the event of Christmas. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a saviour which is Christ the Lord, Luke 2:11. The Bible calls Him the Son of David, the Son of Mary and the Son of God. He was the sovereign Son and He is the saving song.
Yet so many look at Christmas and never see Him. Who it is all about, Jesus? I realize that December 25th may not have been the exact day. However, it is the event we celebrate and not the day. The truth is a Son was given. He is the only begotten of the Father and we are blessed to have a time to reverence Him for coming to this Earth.
He came to where we are that we might go where He is. I love Christmas, Christmas is a time to celebrate. While there is a minority of people who dread hearing or even talking about Christmas there is a vast number of people who love Christmas. I love the Christmas cards at Christmas. I love the food. I love the candy. I love the Christmas decorations. Most of all, I love and celebrate the Biblical account of the coming Jesus Christ to us as a babe in a manger.
I do not celebrate the day. I celebrate the event. The celebration I have is based on the miraculous birth of Jesus Christ. When I think of Christmas I always see the savior, the perfect gift for anyone. He is the gift that never ceases. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
On Christmas, we give gifts like clothes that wear out and they go out of style; tools and jewelry that break down. Jesus is God’s gift that never wears out, never goes out of style. Jesus Christ the same yesterday and today and forever. We can enjoy God’s gift of his Son every day. Jesus is the gift for all season. 2 Cor. 9:15, says, “Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. This gift never ceases giving. Jesus Christ came into this world in a virgin womb. And He left this world from a virgin tomb. Glory to God in the highest? Jesus is coming back the second time. His second coming will be in the full view of the people. Remember, the man or woman who kneels to God can stand up to anything. Are you walking in darkness and gloom? Jesus
