A place where there will be no need for hospitals? No primary care services? No nursing home?
For in that place the inhabitants will never again watch the funeral director lower the casket lid over our loved ones. In that holy city new Jerusalem they die no more. That holy city will be a wonderful marvelous, perfect place where there will be no sin, no sorrow, no pain, no war, and no heartaches forever.
Hebrews 13:14 says, For here we have no continuing city but we seek one to come, there have been no continuing cities on this earth no will there ever be.
Think of the great cities of Babylon and Nineveh that have crumbled into nothingness and are gone forever. Corinth at one time was the seat of luxury, but it is now a shapeless mass. Ancient Athens, at one time was the world center learning but now only a few crumbling buildings and statues remain to tell the story of its existence. But God’s holy city, New Jerusalem will stand forever. Nothing is permanent about our earthly cities and homes.
God’s dominion is an ever lasting dominion. No matter how humble the home here may be, we attempt to make our home more beautiful; but things in our home here, they wear out. But not so in God’s holy city.
And the twelve gates were twelve pearls every several gate was of one pearl and the street of the city was pure gold as it were transparent glass. And I saw no temple there in for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun neither of the moon to shine in it for the glory of God did lighten it and the Lamb is the light thereof. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor unto it. And the gates of the nations unto it.
Oh what a place. Can you imagine a perfect city? Christians shall spend eternity with God in that holy city, New Jerusalem. Revelation, this book is so named because it is the revelation of Jesus Christ as given to the Apostle John. It is also called the apocalypse, which means revelation or unveiling. Remember, deceit comes in many forms but truth comes in one form: the form of God.
