We live in very challenging times. In the realm of the spirit world there is an all-out war going on. It may seem like it is far away and doesn’t affect you but that is what they want you to think. Christianity is under attack. It is happening in the world of religion. The Muslims are intent on world control. The Roman Catholics have the same aspirations. In the middle of it all Satan is flooding the world with fear, confusion and half-truths. Terrorists threaten, maim and kill those that don’t bow their knee to Islam.
The Holy Bible is being changed to soothe guilt and condemnation. Judges attack from the bench and educators twist and challenge the Word of God. In our schools it is increasingly condemned to pray and in public places it is against the law to display the Ten Commandments. A teacher who has a Bible on their desk is apt to be fired.
This all began long ago. It has gained momentum in recent times. Our Constitution is under fire and being politically correct is the “in” thing. When our courts began to lower their standards we were in trouble. Educators quit teaching about our religious heritage and the standards on which our nation is built and began teaching history from the economic point of view. Slowly, we were adrift and subject to the winds of adversity. With our Biblical foundation eroding beneath our feet we were quickly losing our way.
It may seem distant and far away, but it keeps drawing closer and closer to our very existence. Socialism is on the horizon. National leadership is inept. Instead of uniting in principal we are divided by greed and power grabs. Our leaders sweet talk their way into office then focus on being re-elected to office. Instead of patriots we have politicians. Instead of statesmen with a commitment we have champions of compromise.
Generally Clay County is slow in catching on to the winds of change. It took a while but drugs got here. Standards eventually gave way to the morning after pill and condoms in our schools. The Bible says in Hosea 4:6 “ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” When we drift away from God’s standards and principles, we lose our way and disaster will surely come knocking.
