Mavis Jean Bryant, 90, of Dixie, WV went home to be with Jesus on February 11, 2026.

Mavis was born on November 14, 1935, to the late Benjamin and Barbara Salisbury in Enoch, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Jeff Adkins, multiple siblings, and her late ex-husband and father of her children William “Bud” Adkins. She is survived by her children Andy Adkins (Cindy), Lester Adkins (Monica), Teresa Osborne (Rick) and Ronnie Adkins (Stephanie); her Grandchildren, Amy Young (Tim), Tonya Summers (Jeremy), Jimmy Ganley, Kay Smith, Tyler Ganley, Millie Osborne, Cora Osborne, Austin Adkins (Kristin), Colton Adkins (Shelby), Shealee Adkins, and a host of great grandchildren, family and friends whom she loved dearly.

Mavis will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, strength, laughter and faith. She dedicated her life to her family, always there with a warm embrace and smile. Mavis had many hobbies which she loved. You could find her outside working around the house, in her garden, or sitting on the front porch swing admiring her flowers. She loved to crochet, play the guitar, sing in church, study the Bible, drink her coffee with a cookie in hand, and would never pass up a good game of rummy or a wood working project. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.

The family would like to send a special thanks to Montgomery Rehab and Nursing Staff for taking excellent care of Mavis for the past several years.

Funeral Service will be held at Pennington Smith Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, WV on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 1:00pm. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00pm. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Bickmore, WV with Pastor Tim Young officiating.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.carlwilsonfuneralhome.com
